Plain and brushed pieces are the background against which everything else reads. A fully decorated wall tires the eye; what works is alternating pattern and plain. Our plain tile is not flat: hand-applied glaze leaves tonal variation between pieces, and that vibration is what keeps the wall from looking industrial.
